Peep colicked.

I was on the way to a work function, when I got the call. Peep colicked, and she was being rushed to the clinic for possible colic surgery. According to everything I heard, it was pretty dire. She got out of the clinic one day later. It was an impaction colic, and with bran mashes and green grass all should clear up.

Still, it was interesting. It's hard being hit with the reality of the fact that your horse could die at any moment. Sure, she was insured. If she did pass, I would be covered. That doesn't exactly help.

Then you start thinking about how to explain it to your child. "Honey, your horse died." No good.

Thankfully, she's fine now.
