This weekend we meandered down to Winona, MN for a horse show. It was the fall show, and we brought three horses to the event. You may be thinking, "Wait, don't you only have two horses?!" You're right. We DO only own two horses; however, thanks to the generosity of a lovely lady, we borrowed a third horse so my husband could try his hand at showing a reining horse.
I have to give everyone credit. They were very supportive. From the trainer who loaned him her extra set of chaps, to the barn owner who loaned him a horse, to our trainer who told him the night before his first class, "I don't know what to tell you. You're screwed." Everyone was super supportive.
In any case, he went in and rode a complex pattern. He mostly stayed on pattern, even if he did a few parts an extra time or two. His pony was gritty and took good care of him. He looked the part.
Not too bad, for a boy.
